Starting with a mini-show on static and current electricity, the children will be amazed with some cool and BIG demonstrations to get their brain cells started. During the workshop explore:

-
how conductors & insulators work via making play-dough circuits
-
how energy is converted from electrical energy into light energy and kinetic energy using motors and more.
-
how creative your brain can be by making your own circuit designs as well as follow step by step instructions for 10 common creations.

Preschool through to yr6
Cool constructions
Step by step instructions to make a variety of circuit constructions of various difficulty levels.

Motors & Switches
Problem-solve circuits and include components such as

Terms and Conditions for Workshop 1. Booking Information When booking a workshop, please be aware of the following terms regarding participant numbers, communication, time allocation, and resources: 2. Workshop Capacity Each workshop can accommodate a maximum number of children per session. If your group size exceeds this limit, multiple sessions must be booked to ensure the workshop runs smoothly and effectively. •Maximum Participants: This varies depending on the specific workshop. Please check the relevant workshop webpage for precise participant limits. Workshop Justification & Reasoning: •a. Squishy Circuits In these workshops, children work in pairs to construct designs using power packs and materials with varying levels of difficulty. Pairing encourages problem-solving and collaboration, leading to a smoother process for creating their designs. Compared to working individually, where frustration can occur when children get stuck, working in pairs helps them finish their designs on time. •b. Super Scientist | Circus Science | Crazy Dino | Pulsating Pressure | Bubble Mania | Sickening Slime These workshops offer greater flexibility and can accommodate larger groups. Thanks to their structure, which includes multiple activity stations, children can rotate between stations, making it easier to handle fluctuating numbers and ensuring every child gets to participate. •c. Chaotic Chemistry This workshop requires a large outdoor space, especially when activities like rocket launching are part of the session. 3. Communication of Participant Numbers It is the responsibility of the booking party to provide accurate participant numbers for each session. •Initial Numbers: When booking, please provide an estimate of the number of children expected to attend the workshop. •Notification of Changes: Any changes to participant numbers must be communicated to The Crazy Scientist via email at least three weeks before the workshop date. This allows time to adjust the number of sessions or make other necessary accommodations. 4. Adjustments for Lower Numbers (on the Day) If, on the day of the workshop, the number of participants is significantly lower than initially estimated: •Modifications: The Crazy Scientist may attempt to adjust the structure of the sessions to suit the lower number of participants. However, this is at The Crazy Scientist’s discretion and depends on whether combining or altering sessions is feasible. •Lower Fees: If multiple sessions were booked but the final number of participants is lower than expected, The Crazy Scientist may make time or content modifications and charge a lower fee, depending on the circumstances. 5. Adjustments for Higher Numbers (on the Day) If, on the day of the workshop, the number of participants is significantly higher than originally estimated: •Modifications: The Crazy Scientist may attempt to modify the structure of the sessions to accommodate the higher number of participants. However, this depends on the feasibility of combining or adjusting the activities. •Additional Fees: If additional sessions or resources are required due to the increased participant numbers, The Crazy Scientist will charge additional fees to cover the extra time and materials used. 6. Financial Impacts The original booking cost remains applicable in cases where participant numbers decrease without sufficient notice. •Loss of Potential Income: When multiple workshops are booked, The Crazy Scientist reserves time and resources for those sessions. Last-minute cancellations or reductions in participant numbers often result in lost business that cannot be recovered by rebooking other clients. For this reason, the cost of the original booking will still apply unless proper notice is provided. •Increased Resources: If participant numbers increase beyond the original booking without changing the number of sessions, additional resources such as materials and chemicals will be consumed. To cover these costs, The Crazy Scientist will charge an extra fee per child to account for the increased use of materials. 7. Cancellation Policy To ensure a smooth process and allow for rescheduling if necessary: •Notice Period: Cancellations or significant adjustments to the booking must be communicated at least three weeks in advance of the workshop. This allows The Crazy Scientist to adjust resources and scheduling accordingly. •Late Cancellations: If cancellations are made less than three weeks before the scheduled workshop, the full cost of the original booking will apply. 8. Booking Guarantee When you book with The Crazy Scientist, time is reserved exclusively for your group, and other potential clients are turned away. As such, we kindly ask that you honour the original booking unless adjustments are made in a timely manner. The Crazy Scientist is committed to delivering an engaging, fun, and educational workshop experience for all participants, and we appreciate your cooperation in making this possible.

Terms & Conditions for Hiring the Science Workshop Materials: Squishy Circuits 1. Overview Thank you for choosing the Squishy Circuits kits! These kits are designed to provide an amazing STEM experience that kids will love. With your help in taking good care of them, we can keep these workshops running smoothly and ensure many more children enjoy the fun and creativity they offer. We can’t wait to hear the fantastic feedback from your crazy and wacky Squishy Circuit experiences! 2. What’s in Each Kit? Each Squishy Circuits kit includes: 1 x Plastic power pack with 4 x AA batteries 3 x 7 oz tubs of playdough 6 x LED lights 1 x Playdough mat & 5 x A4 project sheets 1 x Switch 1 x Small motor 1 x Buzzer 1 x Playdough cutter / roller / shaper tool set 1 x Numbered, coloured ziplock storage sleeve 3. Using and Caring for the Kits Handling Playdough: Please remind children not to mix the playdough colours. We know it’s tempting when using the tools, but ask the kids to carefully mould individual colours and only combine them when assembling their designs. This helps preserve the playdough for future use and makes it easier to separate colours when packing away. Special care should be taken with the white non-conductive dough to keep it from being contaminated with other colours. LED Lights: The LED lights have thin, delicate legs. Please encourage the children to handle them gently and avoid bending them too far, as they can break. Power Packs and Batteries: Only teachers should change the batteries. The plastic battery packs can be delicate, and forcing them open could cause breakages. 4. Returning the Kits We appreciate your help in keeping these kits in good condition for future workshops. When packing up, please: Storage Bags: Place all parts in their correct ziplock bags. LED Lights: Scrape any playdough from the LED legs to prevent rusting. Mats and Tools: Wipe the playdough mats and tools to remove any leftover dough. Cleaning Fee: If kits are returned in a dirty condition, an $80 cleaning fee will apply to cover the additional cleaning time and materials. 5. Damages, Loss, and Replacement Costs We understand that accidents happen! If any parts are damaged or lost, we’ll need to charge for replacements to keep the kits ready for the next workshop. The costs are: Power Pack: $20 each LED Lights: $2 each Playdough Container: $4 each Buzzer: $15 each Small Motor: $25 each 6. No Deposit Required There’s no deposit required to hire these kits. However, if any items are damaged, lost, or returned in poor condition, the appropriate charges will apply. 7. Safety Considerations To keep things fun and safe, here are a few important reminders: Playdough is not for eating. Please supervise younger children to avoid accidental ingestion. The legs of the LED lights are sharp and may cause minor skin pricks if pressed too hard. Please remind children to move them slowly and handle them with care. 8. Agreement to Terms By hiring the Squishy Circuits kits, you agree to take care of the materials, follow the return instructions, and cover any costs for damage or loss. We’re excited to share these kits with you and look forward to hearing all about the amazing projects your students create!
